Vita

My name is Marie Brockmann, and I am a German film editor (BFS).

In April 2024, I successfully completed my studies at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, earning a degree in film editing. Prior to that, in 2017, I earned a degree in video editing from the Bavarian Academy for Television and Digital Media e.V. and also obtained certifications in Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro. Even during my training, I worked in various areas of film and media production and gained a wide range of experience.

At the beginning of my career, I worked as a Junior Video Editor and Production Assistant in the advertising film industry, contributing to projects for companies such as MINI, BMW, and Webasto. Later, I spent almost two years as a Junior News Cutter at Sky Sport News HD. During my studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, I was able to further develop and deepen my skills.

Since 2020, I have also been working as a freelance editor and have gained extensive experience in various fields—including short films, documentaries, commercials, product and corporate videos, feature stories, social media content, and trailers. In 2025, one of the commercials I edited won several awards, including a Health Clio, the ADC, The One Club for Creativity, and the Spotlight Festival Audience Award.

In 2023, I was also awarded a Deutschlandstipendium, which recognizes my outstanding academic achievements and dedication. I have recently completed my first fictional feature film—a major milestone in my career.

With my diverse experience, technical know-how and passion for creative work, I look forward to taking on new challenges and realizing exciting projects in the film and media industry.
